Description
Boeing 737 Fuselage Tail Section
Boeing 737 Fuselage Tail Section which is 6-7m of the rear of a Boeing 737 cargo plane previously owned by Royal Mail that suffered a ‘heavy landing’ at Exeter Airport.
This is a great section of fuselage for conversion into a glamping pod. There are several features to this that make it an ideal conversion;
- at 4m diameter there is plenty of internal space for living areas, kitchen, toilet and separate sleeping areas for 4+.
- With the old cargo plane flooring in place, with clever design of your pod you could have sleeping facilities either under the floor or over the floor (if rotated 180 degrees so it would be a ceiling). It sounds cramped but there is a lot of space, it would be like the sleeping areas in the hull of a yacht!
We have the rest of the plane if you’d like more including the cabin and tail sections. The cockpit is also available if you wanted it on the front of this cargo door section. The body of the plane has been cut into 5 sections all approximately 7m long and 4m in diameter. Featuring a vast, hollow interior you could make a really exciting range of glamping pods from this entire 737. Most of the electrics and interiors have been stripped out ready for conversion. There are currently no windows or doors included with this section of 737 fuselage.
Fuselage body sections are also utilized as a prop for either film or tv companies. The fuselage section could be used as garden art or as an unusual kids climbing frame. We’ve considered making it into a camper van or caravan but similarly it could be cut up into sections of fuselage wall art, the bright white finish is a great colour for a range of project ideas.
Approx. Measurements
– 6000 cm x 4000 cm diameter (leaves a standing height of 3m as there is flooring installed that you could use to have sleeping areas either below or above.
Logistics – you’ll need to have good site access for any of this 737, preferably with dual carriageway access to your site at 4m diameter. Two sections of this 737 fits on to a low loader so for the whole plane you’d need 2 low loaders and a big trailer being towed (which we can help with).
Approx. weight
– 2.5 ton for the cockpit, the main fuselage sections are probably less at ~1.5 tonne each
GB Salvage offer a wide range of plane parts both to be converted and already converted and ready for use. You’ll find a diverse range of parts we’ve sourced from retired planes all across the UK and Europe. We find and buy aeroplane parts with the full intention of turning them into amazing pieces of furniture and lighting. Having only limited space and time we have to part with some great pieces. So here you’ll find components and muddy puddle finds right up to stunning finished furniture.
There’s almost no limit to the imagination when it comes to making use of parts of old planes. These days it’s all about unique and daring ideas and oversized industrial furniture. A few years ago a piece of aircraft fuselage wall art was really only for a board room or reception area, now it’s all the fashion at home. Even Taylor Swift was chopping up a plane in her latest music video.
